To reduce the number of people in an enclosed space and to accommodate those who are more cautious, St Luke has begun offering two worship times on Sunday morning: 8:30 and 10:00. During the 8:30 service, masks will be required (those with legitimate medical exemptions from wearing a mask will be welcomed). During the 10:00 service, following the masks are encouraged but not required.
Worship Services During the Pandemic
St Luke is pleased to be offering worship services during the pandemic. In an effort to gather for worship safely and responsibly, we are following the guidelines given by Juneau County Health Department. If you feel uneasy about coming back to worship at this time, please do not feel any guilt about staying safe at home and continuing to worship remotely. Our comfort levels are probably all very different. Please continue to love and respect each other. Do not feel obligated to come. We are praying for you. Please pray for us and we all look forward to the time we can be in God’s house together without any restrictions.
Rather than recommending gatherings of 10, 50, etc., Juneau County is recommending we limit our worship services to 25% of our sanctuary capacity. For our church this would mean an attendance of about 60-65 people. We anticipate that a number of people may not feel comfortable attending quite yet, so we do not anticipate exceeding that 25% capacity at this time. For those who wish to remain home, we will continue to post sermons on our Video Sermons page. A list of additional worship-at-home resources is listed below.
Naturally there will be changes to our worship services and practices in order to gather in a safe, loving, and responsible way. Please review the following:
If you have any concerns, questions, or suggestions, please share them with Pastor Kimmel or any of the church council members, or send us a message on our Contact Page.
We hope to see you soon and may God richly bless you!
Continuing to Serve During Quarantine
For those who are in higher risk categories or those who don't feel comfortable returning to church quite yet, St Luke will continue to post video sermons on our Video Sermon page. Because we lack the setup to offer full worship services, we have provided a list of resources available to help you worship at home during these trying times:
