Worship and Bible Study
At St Luke, we believe that worship is primarily about what God does for us, not about what we do for God. In worship, with every syllable of his Word that is proclaimed and spoken, God lovingly speaks the sweet good news of sins forgiven and death defeated to the hearts of sin-burdened people. Therefore, our worship always focuses on the proclamation of Christ and on all that God has done for sinners like us. When that is where our focus is, then worship becomes the blessing that God wants it to be.
I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” ~Psalm 122:1 |
Worship
The Lord's Supper is offered on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. The Bible tells us that the Lord's Supper (or "Holy Communion") is sacred act in which Christ gives us his body and blood for the forgiveness of our sins (Matthew 26:26-29). In this sacrament we also celebrate the spiritual unity we share with one another (1 Corinthians 10:17). As such, St Luke practices close communion. If you are not a member of St Luke or a sister WELS congregation, we invite you to please speak with our pastor before participating in the Lord's Supper. |
