St. Luke's is a family of believers built on the rock-solid foundation of God's Word. Worship and God's Word are central to our faith and life. Come each Sunday morning for an uplifting and relevant message focused on what God’s Word means in our lives. We understand it can be intimidating to come to worship for the first time at a church you’ve never been to before. Here's a little information about what to expect. If you've got any questions, don't hesitate to ask us. You can call us any time at (608) 562-3112 or email us using the Contact Us page.
What is Lutheran Worship?
Lutheran Worship is Distinct:
2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
THAT'S GOOD NEWS.Christ came into the world to remove the guilt of our sin and to give us new life with him.
As Lutherans, we gather:
We hear God speak through his Word.
We give thanks for all that our Lord has done - especially the forgiveness of sins through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Free. Complete.
This cycle of receiving from God and giving to God is distinctively Christian. You will recognize this cycle in our worship services.
Worship that follows this cycle is called "liturgical worship."
Through congregational hymns, spoken responses, Bible readings, psalms, and Gospel-rich sermons, fellow Christians join together to remind one another of God’s mercy and grace - as well as encourage one another in truth and love.

What to Expect
Worship services are every Sunday at 9:15am. (In between services, come join the conversation about God’s Word during Bible Class beginning at 10:45am!). When you come through our doors, you will be in our gathering area. Members and guests visit before entering the sanctuary for worship.
Where should I sit? Feel free to sit wherever you’d like, whether the front or the back. If you need assistance an usher will help you.
What should I wear? You’ll find worshipers at St. Luke's wearing everything from blouses and polos to casual attire. We aren't worried about what you are wearing.
What about my kids? Kids of all ages are welcome at St. Luke's. We believe it is important for children to grow together with their parents as the whole family hears God's Word and sings his praise. There is no need to stress or worry about your children distracting others. We are all just truly glad your children are here! However, if you do feel the need to step out with your child, we have a cry room available in the back of the sanctuary with a clear view and an audio feed of the service, allowing you to follow along with the service while attending to your child.

What are services like? Our worship services include Bible readings, a main message called a sermon, prayers, and singing. The entire service is printed in the worship folder you receive when you come in and up on the television screens in the front of church as well. Each part of the service is clearly marked. Services usually last about an hour.
What's the music like? St. Luke's, like most Lutheran churches, is known for our use of music in worship. We follow a liturgical worship format that is generally consistent week-to-week, meaning the service includes regular components sung by the pastor and the congregation. During any given service we'll also sing several hymns as a congregation (accompanied by organ or piano). These are found in the blue hymnals provided in the sanctuary, printed in the week's service folder, and up on the screens in the front of the sanctuary.
What about the offering? An offering plate is available to place an offering in as you enter the sanctuary before the service begins, but guests are not expected to participate. The members of St. Luke’s have joined together to spread God’s message both in this community and around the world. As our guest, please do not feel obligated to contribute. We’re happy that you’re with us to hear about God’s love for you.
